PADI Rescue Diver Course


About the Course

There are several good reasons for wanting to become a PADI Rescue Diver. Rescue training expands your diving knowledge, increases your level of diving skill and makes you more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment. Most importantly, rescue training can help you develop self rescue skills and increase dive safety by preparing you to respond properly to diving emergencies and near emergencies.


  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) to attend the Rescue Diver Course. 
  • Recognised Medic First Aid certificate with training in CPR within the last 24 months. If you do not have this certificate, our PADI Emergency First Response Course (run in conjucntion with Rescue) is highly recommended and will meet this requirement.


  • PADI Rescue Diver Course and Emergency First Response (First Aid) $525
  • PADI Rescue Diver Course (excluding EFR First Aid) $375
  • Emergency First Response only (Excluding Rescue Course) $195



  • The PADI Rescue Diver Manual
  • Emergency First Response Course Certificate (if undertaken) and Rescue Diver Certification
  • Air Fills

What you will need to bring

  • Complete set of scuba gear including compass, weights and air cylinder. Scuba Equipment packages are available for hire at Dive 2000.
  • Packed lunch for the Open Water training days as this may not be readily available to buy at the chosen site.
  • Towel, sunscreen, dry clothes and a hat.  A spare hat to wear during the in water surface rescue sessions is recommended.
  • Drinking water.
